I also love visiting luxury hotels and resorts. I have reviewed a wide variety running the range from Park Hyatts and Ritz Carltons bookable with hotel points, right through to some of the world's most exclusive brands like Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and Aman.

Finally, I am a firm believer in the fact that the purest expression of a culture is in its cuisine. I love to eat and have written at length about some of my favourite restaurants around the globe.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE REVIEW – ANA : New First Class Suite – Tokyo HND to London LHR (B777)

In July 2019 ANA shocked the world by announcing brand new First and Business Class cabins on their 777s. Previously ANA was renowned for fantastic service as well as some of the best food and drink in the sky. This was juxtaposed with a bizarrely utilitarian seat that looked like an office cubicle with blocked out windows. With the new seat could ANA finally be ranked as the best First Class in the world?

After a rather lacklustre experience at the ANA Suite lounge in Narita a few years back I didn't exactly have high hopes for this lounge. I set the bar low and this facility under delivered with aplomb.

REVIEW – SWISS : First Class – Montreal YUL to Zurich ZRH (B777)

After 24 hours enjoying the sights and food of the beautiful, wintry city of Montreal it was finally time to step into SWISS' all new B777 First Class cabin. I was so happy to be able to plan the trip in a way that let me try the older A330 product beforehand as it meant I could finish on a real high note.

Modern, thoughtful design featuring ample power sockets, a variety of different seating options and abundant natural light. This lounge is a genuinely pleasant place to sit and relax in, or indeed charge your devices and get some work done...

REVIEW – Etihad Airways : Business Class – Abu Dhabi to London (A380)

After an absolutely spectacular outbound flight in the First Class Apartments I was really curious to see how the business class product would pan out. Given that I would be heading straight to the office from this flight, my priorities were a little different than on the outbound. Basically I just wanted to get to sleep in comfort and enjoy some privacy and quiet. I wasn't looking for tons of attention and I was already stuffed from the food at the lounge and on the flight from MLE.

REVIEW – British Airways : First Class – London to Miami (A380)

Realistically this might be a Top 10 First Class product but in order to crack the Top 3 BA would have to make some serious changes. Of course, this would probably come at a higher cost, with less opportunities to redeem miles for the experience. BA's A380 First Class offers an experience truly worthy of the name. It is very pleasant, relaxing and comfortable. However BA falls short of being truly spectacular. Given what other airlines are doing with their flagship products these days, it seems a shame that a once great airline isn't aiming to beat the world.

REVIEW – British Airways : Updated Club World Service – London to New York JFK (B747 Upper Deck)

The new bedding is a vast improvement as is the new tableware. The food is not much better than the old Do&Co catering on this route but then again LHR-JFK is BA's flagship service and has always received an extra level of care and attention. If BA can roll both the Do&Co and White Company partnerships successfully, fleetwide, they will go some way to undoing all of the harm that has been done to their reputation after the last three years of cost-cutting. Add in a new seat due in 2019 and then the only issue that remains is the poor quality of the lounges. BA don't exactly have an easy road ahead of them but for now at least, it appears that things are moving in the right direction.
