CITY GUIDE – Sights and food in Melbourne

Three Days in Melbourne

Whilst Sydney is undeniably the more famous city, with the likes of Bondi beach and the Opera House drawing millions of visitors each year, ask most Australians and they’ll tell you that Melbourne is number one when it comes to bars, coffee shops and restaurants.

With only three days in town, I went all out to eat and drink my way through everything the city had to offer…

Cumulus Inc.

A Melbourne institution, rumour has it that the global trend for avocado toast started in this buzzing spot on Flinders Lane

Press Club

A thoroughly fun and modern fine dining venue, owned by Masterchef Australia’s George Calombaris. A Reason to visit Melbourne

Coffee

Melbourne is a city that is firmly at the global epicentre of the Third Wave Coffee Movement. Some of my favourite spots below…

Brighton Bathing Boxes

A collection of brightly painted Victorian style bathing boxes, half an hour from the city centre. People only come here for one reason. People watching here is pretty fun as you see everybody trying to take their perfect shot.

Nobu

The Melbourne outpost is perfectly located as a stopping point during a walk along the Yarra River waterfront. Way cheaper than the London branches too!
